Inked Woodworking was started with the intentions of creating memories with long lasting woodworking wares for many years to come.  Profit was never the main source of motivation, and if you happen to know any woodworkers, they can certainly verify this to be true!  No, the first product that was ever made was one that was used for a little girl to get her 'princess' pictures made for a local photographer.  From there, the business started to take shape.  It was then that I realized that I could spend my quality time building really cool things for people that were going to be used to create meaningful conversations and memories for years to come.  Hearing those stories has always been more important to Inked Woodworking than the monetary payment received for said products.

Our best selling Cedar Cooler Stands have been an absolute must have since a customer came to us with a picture of a pallet cooler stand.  I thought it was the coolest thing that I've ever seen!  Unfortunately, the competition for these coolers has exploded, but Inked Woodworking has been crushing the scene because of the high quality materials and customization that we offer.  Instead of pallets and nails showing, you'll get rough sawn Cedar (naturally rot resistant, insect repellant, and little/no maintenance), waterproof glue, galvanized fasteners, and top quality bottle opener/catcher.  We spare no expense to deliver such an amazing 'must have' for you and your family.  Now, that being said, yes, they are not the cheapest that you can purchase.  The cost of materials coupled with shipping prices have exploded since Covid, and the actual 'take home' after it is built and shipped would flabbergast your senses!  Again, Inked Woodworking will never be able to retire making these, but at least you'll have a wicked awesome Cedar Cooler Stand to entertain friends and family with delicious ice cold libations!

Now let's get back to the point I'm trying to make about making memories.  The products you see on this website often have meaningful intentions from those that purchase them.  For instance, this American Pride Rustic Cooler Stand was purchased for the owner of a company for his retirement.  This gentleman is, not was, a US MARINE who proudly served his country in Vietnam and came back to create a life for himself and his family.  

I was contacted by a nice lady looking for his retirement gift.  She told me about this Marine and his love for making beer at home.  THIS is the PERFECT gift for him to feel that pride in the USA Flag while filling the cooler with his homemade brews.  I feel blessed to be able to create this product to be shared by this HERO and all of the people at the company when they present it to him early April.  ​

The coolest thing about these coolers is that the customer has the option to add a little extra to the lid with a hand engraving last name or saying.  It is cut in using a hand router and burned to give it that rustic look.  It really does look cool when all is said and done.  Of course others will use a CNC machine and lasers, but Inked Woodworking is ALL about handmade, high skill applications that come from the heart.  Don't get me wrong, those CNC machines make the cleanest quality items I've ever seen, but at the end of the day, I want my hands to feel the sawdust that are covering my callouses from the personal touch I had in creating such a cool item.

If there is one thing that I do know how to do, that is design and build high quality woodworking wares for you and your families!  Unfortunately, there isn't a place in my resume for website construction and design.  I wear many hats (mainly to cover my dreamy hair), but I haven't yet found the one to compliment this skillset.  So, I began using the old google, as the kids would say.  I landed on so many designers, companies, and independent contractors.  So many, that I was a deer in headlights.  This wasn't going to work.  Then, I stumbled on this awesome website upwork, that specializes in providing a platform for talented artists from around the world to help with everything and anything from website design to accounting.  I made a profile, posted what I was looking for, and then let the process begin!

It didn't take long to discover a vast sea of talented individuals from around the world, and upwork provided the resources to screen them all.  They offered their resumes, accomplishments, examples, and even a way to contact them via messaging/video interviews.  This site is legit, and I embraced the process of finding exactly the right person for the job!

That's when I met Susan.  She was/is crushing it on upwork, and her portfolio caught my eye immediately as someone that I wanted to learn more about.  Being the amateur that I am, I sent a list of questions over to her to get the ball rolling.  She responded immediately, thoroughly, and even had a vision for the project.  I knew right then and there that she was going to deliver a user experience that the loyal Inked Woodworking community would be proud of!  As you can see, the entire site has been updated to include so many new features.  We now offer: clean, robust homepage, a new BLOG page, updated policies, EXACT real-time pricing for the customer (Inked Woodworking charges $0 extra for shipping), a new contact button, updated and useful emails, and much more!  Her work speaks for itself, and I cannot wait to see the evolution of Inked Woodworking as we push forward in 2024!

Inked Woodworking has been blessed with so many unique opportunities since we started this journey in 2015. We’ve had the chance to build furniture for the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, auction off two Dr. Seuss inspired bookcases signed by his wife for a gala at the San Diego Zoo, build a whimsical set of bookcases for the Paul Newman Treehouse in Michigan, etc.  One of the coolest opportunities that has presented itself, was the chance to work with Zac Taylor, head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals, making custom cooler stands for his coaching staff.  Even though I’m a diehard Browns fan, rough team to be a fan of, I jumped at this extraordinary opportunity to provide the best gifts ever to his staff!

Our relationship with Zac Taylor began many years ago when he discovered Inked Woodworking via ETSY, where our cooler stand has continued to be an ETSY PICK and BEST SELLER for several years now.  He wanted something unique for the quarterback room where he was stationed as the QB Coach for the Los Angeles Rams.  After being a little starstruck that a coach from the NFL was talking to little old me on the phone, I jumped at the challenge to create a brand-new product for Inked Woodworking!  He wanted something patriotic, and everything that Inked Woodworking represents is American Made with my own callused hands.  We delivered the American Pride Cooler Stand to his locker room, and this cooler stand has become one of the best sellers for Inked Woodworking since then. American Pride Rustic Ice Chest Cooler Stand with Brass Drain, Bottle Opener, and Bottle Cap Catcher

The response to this cooler stand was out of this world!  Zac send a photo of the QB’s standing behind the cooler, including Jeff Goff, and then a signed football with all of the QB’s on it!  That football is still displayed in my office today as one of the coolest opportunities in Inked Woodworking’s history.
